Pool Filter Cartridge
What size cartridge filter is best for a 25,000 gallon in ground pool?

We must find a cartridge filter pool since we can not backwash. Our pool area borders a wetland and a wetland is washed in environmentally disastrous (and, not to mention illegal.) Thus, the sand and DE filters, and the like, are beside the point.

Hmmmm. Well cartridge filters come in all sizes. Things to consider are: pump size, frequency of cleaning, and the cost of replacing the cartridge. Pump size is important because you do not want less than the filter size. Normally Cartridge filters work based on a flow of 1 gallon per minute per square foot of filter surface. There are some differences, however. NOT too young to buy a pump power. Cleaning frequency depends on the size of the cartridge. larger filters require less frequent cleaning. Cleaning the thing is not a big deal, but is a nuisance. Replacement cartridges cost can vary across the scale. Some are less than one hundred dollars. Another several hundred! With regard to replacement costs before buying. It is a very good idea to buy a "spare" when you purchase your filter. If you do it right the dealer will give you a discount on spare cartridge when you buy filter. "Having a spare allows you time to clean the dirty filter in your spare time. Just install the spare tire and clean the dirty one later. Moreover, compare the guarantees of the filters. Some are virtually nonexistent, while others are quite generous. (Remember, companies rarely guarantees that costs nothing money to repair / replace.) comparison of warranty is a good criterion.
